Heartfelt Wishes

My dear friend Susan is hosting a sketch challenge this week on the Paper Crafts forum at the Creating Keepsakes Web site. I decided to use one of my favorite Whiff of Joy images - Melinda Blowing Hearts. I plan to give it to my aunt. She is going through a really tough time right now and needs a little extra love and support.

Paper Crafts message board was the first community I found when I started this great hobby almost four years ago now. Susan and I became friends when I joined a swap of hers on there and I think we always will be. She probably doesn't even know how much she has taught me about stamping, card making and just life. In addition to being a wonderful friend, Susan is a very talented stamper and card maker. You should take a few minutes to check out her blog.

Unfortunately, PCMB has undergone some changes over the past year or so and a lot of the great friends that I made on there have left and the board is pretty quiet. There are still a few of us hanging on though. Hopefully we'll be able to build up the membership again. It really is a nice little group and I enjoy their friendship.

Thanks for checking out my card. And than you Susan for a fun sketch! I'll be using this one again for sure.

Roses on Paper Challenge #7 - Sketch

The current Roses on Paper challenge is another challenge from Rosette - a sketch. In addition to following the sketch, you must use a Magnolia, Whiff of Joy, Alota, Sarah Kay, Rachelle Anne Miller or Greeting Farm image. I just purchased my first Whiff of Joy and Magnolia stamps. For this challenge I chose a sweet image from Whiff of Joy. I really like the Whiff of Joy images - A LOT!
This color combination is something COMPLETELY out of the ordinary for me. I'm trying really hard to go with some different combinations and not use the same ones over and over. I would never have put the blue color with the pink and purple, but the colors were all in my DP so I decided that they must go together. :) Now that it's all together, I think I like it. The scan does not show the colors quite right. In real life they are softer.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. Be sure to stop by the Roses on Paper challenge blog to see the other great work there.
