I Love Rock N Roll

I haven't been too much in the card making mode this week. Work has been crazy busy. I'm am Web designer so I mess around with images and graphics all day. I think I've been on graphics overload, so when I get home I don't really want to do layouts. I decided it was about time to do another card anyway, so I came up with this one for this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge.

The theme for this week is "Mirror, mirror," and the object is to use something shiny. It may not look like it in the picture, but this card is pretty darn shiny. I used my new Rock Star Anya stamp. Her guitar is colored with Sakura Glaze Pens. The paper I used in the circle behind Anya and for the flower in the top right corner is called "glittery sequins" and it's very sparkly. The red heart paper is also a shiny speciality paper. I addes some red heart gems, silver heart brads and metallic silver ribbon for more sparkle. I also colored Anya's headband with a blue glitter marker. I used foam squares to attach Anya for more dimension.

I don't know if this is my favorite card ever. I really never use that much "bling" on one card. I like a few gems or some well-placed glitter, but this card is a little over the top as far as my usual style goes. I was in the mood to make a card, I love doing the Cute Card Thursday challenge and I wanted to use my new stamp, so I decided to just go all the way with the shiny idea. I think it's a good idea to go outside our usual styles once in awhile though. It keeps things fresh.

I also thought of adding a sentiment like "You Rock", but to be honest I was just too lazy to print one up and I don't have a stamp that says that. I will most likely add that to the inside when I decide to send the card.

Thanks for stopping by. I have a Magnolia card brewing that I'll probably post tomorrow or Sunday. That one will be more "me". Hope you have a great weekend!

Whoa, this is a little different for you Judy, but I'm likin' the bling side of you! I had to click on a close up of this one to get the full effect:)
