Two Unexpected Challenges

I say this card is for two unexpected challenges because I really did not plan to do any crafting this evening. I had trouble sleeping last night and have been awake since about 3:00 a.m. - after only about three hours of sleep. I had to work all day, so I'm pretty beat. My plan was to come home, put on my sweats and just veg for the evening. But when I checked my favorite challenges I just had to do two of them - Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge and SCS Limited Supplies Challenge. I don't do these every week (only so much time after all), but liked both of them and was able to combine them in one card. It also helped that I already had this image colored. I had planned to use it on a card a couple of weeks ago and changed my mind.

The SCS Limited Supplies challenge this week is "easy as 1-2-3" - one color of cardstock, two designer papers and three embellishments. I almost messed up because I started to mat my little squares with pink and then remembered I was only supposed to use one color - oops. See - told ya I was tired. I caught myself in time though. I wasn't sure if the three embellishments meant three different types or three total, so I went with three total - two buttons and a ribbon.

The Taylored Expressions sketch is below. I love this sketch. It's simple, but versatile. I am sure I'll be using it again. Even when I don't participate in the challenges, I like to check out Taylor's sketches. She's got some great ones and I have used several.

Thanks for stopping by. I think I'm going to take my tired self to bed. Hope you come back again soon!
Supplies

Cardstock: yellow (DCWV); DP - Two Scoops (Basic Grey)

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #55

Here I am - barely squeaking in another challenge before the deadline. This one is for this week's Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I think my friend Susan is rubbing off on me - I can't seem to make a card without a mouse or a bunny on it anymore. :)

The background papers are cardstock that I ran through my Big Kick with a couple of Cuttlebug embossing folders (D'Vine Swirls, Swiss Dots and Floral Fantasy). I used a brayer to roll a slightly darker shade of ink over the paper to highlight the raised areas.

Supplies
Stamps: Party Mouse (House Mouse Designs), Celebrate (Michael's $1 clear stamp)
Ink: StazOn (Jet Black); Colorbox Chalk Ink (Olive Pastel, Wisteria, Rouge)
Paper: Pink, Green and Purple cardstock (Archiver's)
Embellishments: Cuttlebug embossing folders (D'Vine Swirls, Swiss Dots, Floral Fantasy), Nestabilities circle and scalloped circle dies, Prima flower, brad, ribbon
Techniques: Prisma colored pencil blended with Gamsol, paper piercing

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #50

Here is my creation for this week's Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I had the mistaken idea that anything you made for this challenge had to have cupcakes on it - and I own no cupcake stamps. But my friend Susan set me straight, so I finally decided to do a card for this one. It was a fun and I plan to check out Taylor's challenges more often now that I know I don't have to have cupcakes on my card.

Everyone that has submitted links for the challenge so far have done some really cute and creative cards. I don't think mine is quite up to everyone else's, but I'm posting it anyway. I'm really trying to do some things that are not my usual style and this one definitely is not. I was going for "happy" and "springy" (sick of winter already - blech) so hopefully I succeeded.

Supplies
Stamps: "Spring Air" (Penny Black); large daisy (Paper Studio - Hobby Lobby); sentiments and small daisies (Michael's $1 bin)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine); French Blue (Colorbox Chalk Ink)
Paper: Blue and white cardstock (unknown); DP (Rob and Bob Studio - ProvoCraft)
Embellishments: Scallop circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), gingham ribbon, Prima daisy, yellow brad
Technique: Prisma colored pencil blended with Gamsol
